Does the sale of software applications to India attract any tax in India?
aaroamal asked:
We have been receiving requests for software from prospective customers in India. Does anyone know what are the tax obligations, if any, of a foreign company selling software (say over the internet) to India? We do not have a permanent establishment in India. What taxes, if any, are applicable? Would it be different if we had a independent canvassing agent? Does this constitute trading “in India” as opposed to “with India”?
