Advice on Tax Liens?

Tony asked:

Went to a Trump Institute seminar on tax lien sales. I snooped around the internet a bit about their program, looks like i can find the information through the internet.

But I had these questions:
Is the trump institute seminar worth it?
Can I find this information easily somewhere else?
If so, what website or books would you recommend for me to further my knowledge on this subject.

Thank you!

You can find most information online. There are some very good books on this topic, one of my favorites one that’s short to the point but very well written is the Complete Guide to Real Estate Tax Liens and Foreclosure Deeds: Learn in 7 Days by Don Sausa [ISBN 0978834682].

Each state has their own rules and not all states sell tax liens; they just auction off the property outright. The best source of information is your local tax collector’s office or website. Given that all of that information is freely available, there’s little reason to waste money paying for it.
